IS YOUR SITE SECURE? HOW DO I ORDER SHARPENING SERVICES ONLINE?
We are pleased to announce that we have expanded our mail-in sharpening territory to include Hawaii, Alaska, and all US territories. We will continue to stand by our low flat rate shipping fee; no additional shipping fees will be applied to sharpening orders within these locations. HOW CAN I PROPERLY PROTECT MY EQUIPMENT IF I DO NOT HAVE ONE OF YOUR SPECIALLY DESIGNED BOXES FOR CLIPPER BLADES?
HOW SOON WILL I RECEIVE MY SHARPENING ORDER BACK?
We will ship your sharpening order back to you within within five (5) business days from receiving it. We understand the importance of fast, reliable service. For example, if we receive your package on a Monday, the latest it should be shipped back to you would be the following Monday due to the weekend. Holidays when the mail does not run are also not counted as business days as we usually ship your packages back to you via USPS. Occasionally, we encounter circumstances that make it difficult to meet these guidelines, but they are rare exception to the rule and would only add an additional day or two. HOW FAR DOES WILLSHARPEN.COM SHIP?
We ship to all the continental United States. However, we have expanded our shipping area on sharpening and clipper repairs ONLY to include Alaska, Hawaii and all US territories. If you live in the additional areas and would like us to consider shipping you storefront merchandise, please contact our webmaster@willsharpen.com before placing your order. All items will be determined individually as manufacturer's policy and costs allow. CAN I HAVE MY ORDER SHIPPED TO A DIFFERENT ADDRESS THAN THE BILLING ADDRESS?
Yes! You can have your order shipped to anywhere in the United States. It is important, however, to ensure that the billing address coordinates with the address for the credit card used for payment. Also, be sure to enter valid phone number(s) and email, so we may contact you concerning your order if necessary. CAN I ORDER BOTH MERCHANDISE AND SERVICES IN ONE ORDER?
Yes! You may include sharpening services and/or clipper repair with a product order from our storefront; however, we will not ship the items from our storefront until we have received and completed the the item(s) sent for servicing/sharpening. If you need the merchandise quickly, we strongly recommend placing two separate orders: one order for the storefront merchandise and one for the sharpening and/or clipper repair service. At times, and strictly at our own discretion, we may choose to ship an order in more than one package. If that occurs, we will not charge further shipping fees unless we contact you for prior authorization of those additional fees. This would only occur in rare circumstances. DOES YOUR CLIPPER BLADE SHARPENING EQUIPMENT PRODUCE HOLLOW GROUND SHARPENING?
Yes. All A-5 clipper blades must be hollow ground to work. Our equipment produces hollow ground sharpening so that all clipper blades sharpened by us are brought to a factory edge. ![]() DO MY SHEARS OR SCISSORS HAVE A CONVEX OR BEVEL EDGE? The easiest way to tell is to compare your scissors or shears to the image on the right. The following information will also explain what to look for and why a convex shear costs more to sharpen. A bevel edge (also referred to as German edge) shear’s inside blades are flat as depicted above. The blades remain in full contact as they cut. They are only sharpened on the outside edge of the blade, and the angle of the cutting edge (usually between 10 and 35 degrees) has a lesser angle than convex edges. A convex edge (also referred to as Japanese edge) has a sharper and thinner cutting edge which is enabled through hollow ground, concave blades. As depicted in the image above, only the cutting edge of the blades meet as they cut. Because of the concave blades, a convex shear requires special sharpening technique and must be sharpened and polished on the inside of each blade as well as the outside edge; therefore, the blades must be taken apart to sharpen properly. Also, the angle of a convex edge (usually between 45 and 50 degrees) has a much sharper angle than bevel edges. As there is more involved in the process of sharpening a convex edge shear, they cost more to sharpen and should never be sharpened by anyone who has not been properly trained and certified for sharpening convex edges. We have received specialized training and certification for this process and will not void a warrantee that includes the requirement of using a qualified sharpener.
